I’m not into white sand beaches and turquoise water and palm trees galore, but these two pictures by Ashley Oostdyck look really swell…

I’m not a cat lady, but slowly turning into a flower lady. Aaaand gazing lovingly at my flowers, and blogging pictures of my flowers. (and I always buy pretty much the same, so it’s really exciting material, I’m well aware…) These ones are HUMONGUS, although they didn’t look that fat when I got them. My flowers are awesome, hush.

It’s SPRING today ! And inevitably, it’s such wonderful news, like it is every single year. There’s something magical about spring, and definitely hopeful. Going through my latest cookbook aquisition : The Kitchen Diaries, by Nigel Slater. Oh boy. It’s a mouth-watering book with beautiful simple design, gorgeous photos and inspiring words. ...

Things have been tough for a few months and got thougher over the weekend and it’s gonna be tough for a while. We lost someone and right now even food can’t comfort me. I’m terribly sad and exhausted, so it’s a good thing spring is well on its way as well as a few babies and maybe a much anticipated visit from a great friend… Need stuff to look forward to,...

I hate to comment on the weather again, really. Yet… I’m GONNA. The level of sudden springness is unbelievable !! I felt a bit audacious leaving home without a jacket on yesterday. But after ten minutes the cardigan went off, and after twelve, the scarf. An hour later, I HAD to buy sandals, because my feet couldn’t stand the socks and boots any longer. HAD to. ...

Another morning home tour ! I like taking my camera, stepping on a stool and go sneak up on my things. Sting’s concert last night was SO good, can’t help listening to more and more… But it’s a bright beautiful day, off I go now.

It’s funny the relationships we have with our clothes. Some we buy and love and then find so very out of style after a few months or so. Some we buy and wear twice. No, just once. Some we still wear years and years and years later, for no apparent reason other that “le coeur a ses raisons que la raison ignore” (~ the heart has its reasons that reason doesn’t...

(picture from last year) It was THAT day today. I wish I’d taken a camera with me. It was that really sunny day when all of a sudden every single person in Paris is having lunch outside cafés, when for the first time of the season you feel the need to take your jacket off, and you frown your eyes the light is so bright. Ooooh I love that day ! I got myself a tank top and panties...

Home this morning (is colourful). I have new tape, golden stickers, flowers I can’t bring myself to throw away because they’re kind of wonderful, little red plant thingies that look a little like Chritmas, a green cloth and breakfast.

I woke up sick this morning. I called a very-nearby-living friend to the rescue and she brought me painkillers and apple sauce in a flash. And then my mom stopped by with flowers and a pineapple for comfort. I used a high Weck jar as a vase; apparently there’s nothing these jars can’t do ! I’m better now.

Living alone is a funny thing. Tonight, for the first time in five months (has it been five months already ??!), I actually set the table for myself. I do always have dinner and I cook good things, but I just need a large bowl, a fork and a cloth, really (I’m so fancy I use these in the kitchen, love the fabric and amazing colors). Tonight I took out a placemat, placed sea salt...
